ICPI PERMEABLE PAVER CLASS IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Just returned from Livermore, California where I helped teach an ICPI PICP class. We had 30 total students. 17 very experienced contractors, 4 distributors and 9 manufacturer reps. Class is the first one I and the other instructor taught. and, only the second taught in the United States.I learned a lot teaching the class. HOW NOT TO DO A POOL DECK REMODEL

Some tips for installing pavers and installing pavers as an overlay of either concrete or asphalt.You always want to use a geotextile over the concrete or asphalt. When the material cracks, which it will, the bedding sand will be confined by the geotextile. EPA PERMEABLE PAVER, POROUS CONCRETE

I was in New Jersey last week teaching an ICPI level 1 class. As my luck would have, the NJ concrete producers institute were having a dinner with the featured speaker was Mike Borst from the EPA. Mike is the person in charge of monitoring the permeable pavers, porous concrete and pervious material. The EPA did a parking lot at their offices in Edison, NJ.Equal parts of all three materials were installed. All materials have the same amount of open graded aggregate installed under them. RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!

More rain today and more predicted for Monday. Looks like a rain out for work. It's nice tohave "a day off" to catch up on paper work. I plan on working on my ICPI Level 2 Instructorstest, which I have to pass with a 90% to teach the class. After I re-take the test I have to takea webinar on the topic. Elephant Feet Pavers

Elephant pavers, what are they and what causes them. A paver is said to have "elephant feet" when the bottom of the paver is wider than the top. You can figure out the problem for the installer, right. The quality of the bond lines go to hell. Also, the pavers do not fit into the field properly. What causes this problem?
